News for 2006/2007 season

Concerned by their clients’ comfort, the STVI adopted the « hand-free » ski pass system. This new system will be in place for 2006/07 season and will automatically detect and control your ski pass when you get to the departure of each lift. You will not have to get your ski pass out of your pocket any longer: every control point will read your information entered in the microchip of your card and the gate will automatically open. Summer skiing: large-scale works

Summer skiing will reign once more in Val d’Isère! In order to improve this summer activity which was losing momentum every year, the STVI (Val d’Isère’s lift system company) has engaged large-scale works on the Pissaillas Glacier and installed 30 new snow canons in order to guarantee great snow coverage on the 2 main slopes.
The STVI is also aware of the importance of environmental issues for Val d’Isère in the future and is doing its best to develop summer skiing with minimum consequences for ecology. That is why an artificial 36,000 m³ water reservoir has been built to supply water to the new snow factory which is situated close to the Leissières chairlift (on the Iseran domain).
